Despite the similar name, Fort Myers Beach is a separate township from Fort Myers. Fort Myers Beach is, however, a part of the Cape Coral-Fort Myers metropolitan area. It is a truly remarkable place to live for those that wish to reside in a small island community. The town itself is actually located across two small barrier islands, Estero Island and the island known as San Carlos. Because it is an island community, there are ample opportunities to lounge on the beach or fish, both of which are popular activities among both residents and tourists to the area. The subtropical climate, with warm, humid summers and warm, dry winters, allows these popular activities to be enjoyed on a year round basis. The town also boasts an excellent farmer’s market, which is a popular shopping destination for locals and tourists. The market operates on Fridays from November to April and showcases and sells food grown by local and nearby farmers as well as locally caught seafood. Various plants, seeds and snack foods of all types are likewise sold here at the wonderful market. Because the market operates under one of the local bridges, it is open regardless of whether it is raining or not. If shopping is one of your favorite things, Fort Myers Beach offers a unique experience in its shopping district on Estero Island, known as Times Square. Here there are ample shops to satisfy any shopping urge, interspersed with areas to sit and relax. It’s not all business, though, as shoppers are entertained with various street performers. After a hard day of shopping, Times Square offers one of the best locations to view the evening sunset; a great way to relax and unwind. For island living, it would be hard to find a better place than Fort Myers Beach. Hamilton-Franklin Realty is pleased to service the area and help you get acclimated to the new, fun way of life that can only be found living in a beachfront community.
